Majora’s Mask 3D won’t be “just another remake”
When The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D was announced I asked, “Why has Nintendo only just announced Majora’s Mask 3D?“. Now, it looks like I finally have my answer. Nintendo’s Eiji Aonuma took to Miiverse to explain exactly why they kept quiet about the forthcoming title:
Of course, the game play has been made smoother and the graphics improved upon whilst retaining their unique style. The changes to the game that make it break the remake mould are still a mystery, with Anonuma promising “When it’s closer to its release date, I’ll talk more about what has been changed in the Nintendo 3DS version”.
Majora’s Mask 3D has been in development for quite some time; Anouma stated in his post to the community that development began “almost immediately” after the completion of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time 3D. That’s a hell of a long time to keep this amazing news a secret, of course there were rumours, but with a classic title like this there are always rumours of a remake.
This is definitely nearing the top of my list of games I can’t wait to play in 2015. Not only will veteran Zelda fans love the new to get to grips with the new incarnation of a fan-favourite, but it’ll also be a great chance for new fans to discover their love for the franchise.
