EA (incomplete) Access: trials are not “real games” but are limited like demos

UPDATE: After reading some of the feedback on this article I felt the need to clarify a few things. I’m not hating on Inquisition, it’s an amazing game. I’m not hating on the value of EA Access, after all trials are a small part of what the service offers. My issue is that the trial is marketed as one thing, then being delivered as something else. I don’t agree with EA stating it’s the “real game” and “not a demo“, EA just needs to call it as it is.

And for those stating that it isn’t true, just so you know that’s exactly why I attempted to record it with the game DVR so I could upload it and screen grab it. (No screen shot function on the Xbox One yet and I have no capture equipment). Here’s a shoddy phone image, sorry for the quality.

ORIGINAL STORY:

This week I decided to subscribe to EA Access to take advantage of the Dragon Age: Inquisition trial. Signing up entitled me to six hours of romping RPG fun in the world of Thedas, after which I wouldn’t be able to play again until release, after actually purchasing the game. The problem is the trial didn’t exactly live up to its promise. This is what the EA Access website states about pre-release trials:

When you play a trial through EA Access, you’re playing the real game for a limited time, before its release date. And if you purchase the game, you don’t need to download or install anything; you’ll just pick up where you left off and keep playing on the release date.

So you’d expect to be able to play as much as possible within those six hours, right? Wrong. After fulfilling the first few story-related quests in Inquisition, I headed back to the war room to build some watch towers only to find out that I wasn’t able to. In fact, every option visible to me at the war table said “Not available during trial“. With over two hours left to spare of my trial, you can understand that I was a bit frustrated at not being able to progress the main storyline further at that point.

Maybe EA Access explained this when announcing the trial for Inquisition? Actually, if you go to the announcement, the page states the following:

Members can download the trial through the EA Access Hub app on Xbox One, and play BioWare’s epic new RPG for six hours. Use this time to create your hero, start your story, and explore the living, open world of Thedas. Or take on missions with your friends in Inquisition’s cooperative multiplayer mode—the choice is yours.

Since you’re playing the real game—not a demo—your progress and stats will carry over if you decide to purchase the game at a later date.

So while I was impressed that my achievements were unlocking and enjoying just how great a game Inquisition is, it all turned a bit sour when I hit that invisible “trial” wall. It really is at this point that EA Access can’t call it the “real game” and “not a demo“, as surely if the game is limited then it is a demo?

Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty to do in the trial, such as exploring, crafting, and side-questing. But it was pretty disappointing to not be able to progress further, to gain more companions, to see more of the story line and all the other awesome things you expect to do.

Just to add further insult to injury, when I recorded the options being unavailable to me via the Xbox One’s Game DVR, it wouldn’t let me upload it. Or any other Dragon Age: Inquisiton video for that matter, while videos of other games I could still upload perfectly. As it turns out, although it lets you record footage of a trial, you can’t upload or share the videos.

This article really does not make much sence. Of course there is a limit to how much of the game you can play. If not what would stop a person from basically speed running through the game and never buying it? Sometimes I think gamers just look for a reason to complain. Get real people. Like it or not, this is still a business and the purpose is to make money; not quality games, not happy fans, not good public relations, MONEY. Of course if they do all of the others the former is most likely the end result.

    • Thad Vanity

Actually he makes a very reasonable point…..

Speed run? It’s a Dragon Age game FFS. Even if you could speed run the entire Main Campaign in under 6 hours (Which you can’t) you would have enjoyed a tiny percentage of the game while having no time to enjoy the moments.

But that’s irrelevant: The issue here is EA’s description of the service and the game “Since you’re playing the real game—not a demo” That part there seems very relevant don’t you think? A clear statement which is shown to be false.

Maybe if this was an entirely free service then they could be allowed some grace, but it’s not. It’s a monthly subscription service that costs money.

Money taken under what has been shown to be misrepresentation. Fact.

      • Ian Upthagrove

I haven’t run into any restrictions at all. Not sure what the problem is.

        • http://www.geeksdontlie.co.uk/ Meg Pelliccio

Eventually, when/if you try and progress the main story missions to the point where you need to build watch towers then you will encounter the restrictions.

      • Zé Boreu

Nobody else both on this article and on the article that brought me here found this restriction, so i think maybe the person who wrote this article is just a lying geek xD

        • http://www.geeksdontlie.co.uk/ Meg Pelliccio

This is exactly why I tried to record it with the game DVR so I could upload it and screen grab it.

          • Zé Boreu

Very interesting, but it’s very hard for me to tell exactly your progress into the game, you seen like a reasonable person, so you should know that even if they say you have acess to the full game, you should expect to have some reasonable limitations in the trial, especially when we are talking about a RPG which it’s main focus is it’s story and characters, maybe they didn’t want to have you to go too deep into the story line in order to avoid major spoilers till the game actually ships, but it’s just my hypotesis.

          • http://www.geeksdontlie.co.uk/ Meg Pelliccio

Oh yes, I completely understand that, (and completely agree) my only problem is that it wasn’t just a trial, EA have literally said it’s the real game but you only get six hours of it. I realise the whole “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is” kind of ideal, but then I don’t think that makes it ok for EA to advertise as something it’s not just because common sense should tell people they’re not going to get that.

    • http://www.geeksdontlie.co.uk/ Meg Pelliccio

I understand all the points you’ve made and I agree with them on a whole. Of course I don’t think the speed run is applicable to Dragon Age, however, people have managed quicker runs with the likes of Skyrim etc so who knows.

My issue is purely that EA is marketing the trial as the real game for a limited time, when actually there are restrictions in place meaning that it isn’t the “real game”. It’s a demo, EA just needs to say as much.

      • Zé Boreu

But they said you would be able to import your progress into the full game when it launches, which is the main difference between a Demo and a Trial, you can’t do this in a Demo.

        • http://www.geeksdontlie.co.uk/ Meg Pelliccio

I agree there, also achievements unlocking too, which I pointed out in the article. Both brilliant pointers. I’m not hating on EA Access, I think it’s great value for money. I just dislike the way EA have described the trial, it’s a bit misleading.

          • drjonesjnr

Its very misleading if you ask me its a demo no matter how you look at it

      • dlocsta

It is the real game they did not lie. Their statement was 100% factual. The fact that you cannot progress past a certain point does not negate the fact that you are playing the “real” game. I understand what your complaint is, but they did not lie. They omitted that there would be limitations on progress but other than that they were spot on in their description. It is the real game because you download the entire game for the trial and start it from the beginnng. The only limiting factor is the time restriction. Other than that it is the exact retail copy of the game. Again, I understand your frustration with the wording or lack of wording, but it is not a lie.

        • Thad Vanity

LMFAO. If a game has restrictions (limitations on existing content access) then it is not the full game. It is a demo.

If your just trying to be pedantic and state that the game exists, then congratulations; you look stupid.

If you think downloading the entire game but then not being able to access the entirety of its content constitutes the full game, then congratulations: your deluded.

You can’t limit progress in a game via any other means than a time restriction and call it the full game. /thread.

          • dlocsta

For someone who tries to exude intelligence you have the basic understand of logic of a muskrat. The FACT that you cannot access the entire game does not negate the FACT that they WHOLE game is installed, dumbass. You are a perfect example of the constant use of faulty logic used all over the internet. The only delusion I have is in believing people on the net can comprehend anything without applying bias or stupidity to the equation. Congradulations to your proving me correct once again. And if you never heard of faulty logic look it up; psychology 101 in case your wondering. Padantic? You people are hilarious in your stupidity.

          • Thad Vanity

For someone who tries to exude intelligence your grammar/spelling needs a lot of work….but that’s beside the point

Lets say I rent a movie: the new Godzilla for example. I put the disk in and instead of the whole movie playing (Despite it being on the disk in its entirety) it plays the first half of the movie, in black and white while occasionally skipping scenes and cutting audio.

            Is that the WHOLE MOVIE?

No, Of course it isn’t. “But it’s all on the disk so it must be the WHOLE movie” You would say.

            You would be wrong.

Get a grip child, your ignorance is showing…..

          • dlocsta

You are kidding right? You are really not this damn stupid are you? Are you trying to compare this to renting a defective DVD? That is your brilliant come back? Seriously, I really need you to answer that. I am sure this is a joke and you will “LOL” any minute now. Let me break it down so you first graders with understand. A statement of fact means that whatever is stated is true in its entirety. Fact, the download contains the entire game. Can you access the entire content? It does not matter because it has no bearing on the statement of fact that the entire content is present. The stated fact never said you would be able to access ALL of the content. If it had then they would be lieing. It did however say that you would be downloading the entire game. Before you reply think about this question and answer if you would, does not being able to play the entire game remove any portion of the downloaded material in turn removing possession of the entire game?
Oh and to answer you question, yes it is the entire movie. Once again you are using faulty logic. You cannot access the entire movie and have not watched the entire movie but that does not mean those portions were removed from the DVD. You are really good at looking really stupid.

          • Thad Vanity

Who said anything about defective you ignorant mook! It was stated as a function of the film disc to limit access to content while the entirety of its content remained on the disk…..

It actually says “Since you’re playing the real game—not a demo

          • dlocsta

I need to shut your dubm ass up once and for all because you are truly an idiot. The comment on defictive was related to your half-assed example dip-shit. And for the last time, if you have a home and there is $1,000,000 dollars inside the home that belongs to you then you have all of it. Now we change the scenario, there is $1,000 avaiable to you and the rest is locked in a room that you do not have access to until you get the key and open the door. Does not having the key, you know dubmass like not having the unlock key to a video game, mean that you do not have ALL of the money there with you? What your ignorant ass cannot seem to comprehend is it has NOTHING to do with being able to ACCESS the data. They stated you would have the whole game. NEVER ONCE DID THEY STATE YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY THE WHOLE GAME! See the difference?!? You can have it and not have access to it but it does not change the FACT, again for the idiots here, the FACT that all of it is there. Obviously you did not take the time to look up faulty logic or you would see just how stupid you look right now. I even agree with you that it is poor wording, but they in no way lied about what they were providing. You are just too stupid to understand. Whatever you do stay out of business or anything to do with finance. You can’t seem to think past your own nose.

          • Thad Vanity

LMFAO. The only thing defective here is your logic and by extension brain…..

You need to srsly look at your position and realise how inane you are and sound. honestly, there’s only one person here looking like a moron and it sure isn’t me.

Enjoy your delusions little boy, but please: Keep posting, we’re all enjoying it very much….

          • dlocsta

I am still waiting for a sign of intelligence from you. I have explained the logical reasoning behind my argument as well as provided reasoning as to why your argument is incorrect. You on the other hand have continued to give an opinion on wording. Logic is just beyond your understanding. It is not entirely your fault. Somewhere in your up bringing there were a few lessons missed. Just remember it is never to late to learn.

          • Thad Vanity

You’ve written plenty and yet said nothing….

          • dlocsta

No, I just didn’t say I agree with you. I think we can agree to disagree. I will end with this, owning my own business, managing a multi-million dollar account working for Sony and having a bachelor’s degree in business I think I have an idea of what I am talking about when I tell you the wording may be misleading, but is in no way legally or factually incorrect. That, sir, is my point.

          • Thad Vanity

LMFAO. Srsly? “Misleading” constitutes factually incorrect you self-aggrandized fool! That makes it legally incorrect. So you have no point in reality (and have confessed as such)! Merely your own deluded logic.

As a “business man” (lol), you must be very well versed with U.S.C Title 15, Sec.52 - Dissemination of False Advertisements? Right? Or have you never heard of it because your actually talking complete garbage? Wait, never mind, easy guess.

Feel free to continue replying, It is truly enjoyable to read your grandiose fantasy….

          • dlocsta

You brought is up so here it is: “(a) Unlawfulness
It shall be unlawful for any person, partnership, or corporation to disseminate, or cause to be disseminated, any false advertisement—
(1)By United States mails, or in or having an effect upon commerce, by any means, for the purpose of inducing, or which is likely to induce, directly or indirectly the purchase of food, drugs, devices, services, or cosmetics; or
(2)By any means, for the purpose of inducing, or which is likely to induce, directly or indirectly, the purchase in or having an effect upon commerce, of food, drugs, devices, services, or cosmetics.
            (b) Unfair or deceptive act or practice
The dissemination or the causing to be disseminated of any false advertisement within the provisions of subsection (a) of this section shall be an unfair or deceptive act or practice in or affecting commerce within the meaning of section 45 of this title.”
By stating you will receive the whole game but not stating that you will be able to play the whole game which part of this law would apply? According to EA they NEVER said you would be able to play the whole game. The DID say you would RECEIVE the whole game. They said you whould PLAY the “real” game for a limited time. Please copy and post the portion of this law which states those statements to be unlawful. And for the illogical once more, misleading does NOT mean non-factual. Two very small children are playing. One of the has a dollar and the other has two quarters. If they trade because the child with the two quarters says, “if we trade you will have two things and I will have one.” Misleading as HELL, but factual. Just as EA they never expressed the other would be obtaing less that he originally had, in fact he believes he is getting more. Anyway, it is a very old story about learning to count taught to pre-school kids and it kinda fits here.

          • Thad Vanity

Haha, TL;DR, But nice attempt to, do something………I guess. Not sure what your point was meant to be….but then I suppose neither do you.

That thing about the children, not misleading at all actually. If the child had said “You will have more money”, that is when it becomes misleading. You clearly have no idea what your talking about. At all. But then your knowledge base seems to revolve around pre-school education, so what should we really expect, huh?

You clearly have no idea how US law works either.
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precedent
But you’d know all about that being a business man and all (LOLJK, I know your a stupid kid, It’s just so damn obvious).

Again, If you can; Define Real-Game & Define Retail-Game & Define Demo, explain the difference between the three. For your position to be even vaguely tenable, you must have a compelling distinction to present.

In the meantime, any more gems of ignorance you wish to spew forth; I mean honestly, just when I think you’ve said the dumbest thing possible you power on through with some other glorious monument to your own ignorance.

          • dlocsta

I will answer EVERY question you have above as soon as you answer they question I posted to you. Highlight the portion of the law that would indicate what we are discussing illegal. It is a simple request, surely a person of your business accumen would have no difficulty in doing so. Oh, and wikipedia is not a good source for quoting law, try a .gov instead, just a suggestion. Or do like i did and post the ACTUAL law.

          • Thad Vanity

LMFAO. Ooooh man your so deluded it’s farcical. Did I ever say anything about “owning my own business, managing a multi-million dollar account working for Sony and having a bachelor’s degree in business I think I have an idea of what I am talking about” or was that you that said that? Hmmmmmm.

Do you not understand precedence or are you just incapable of reading? Nevermind; someone so self-satisfied as yourself is immune to reality I suspect. I did highlight the law that indicates EA’s wording is misleading (A point you’ve already admitted to agreeing with); It’s the entire thing you copy/pasted, but you wouldn’t know or understand that because you have not one single fucking clue how precedence or case law works, do you? Nope.

So go on then, Define Real-Game & Define Retail-Game & Define Demo, explain the legal distinction between the three……..I’m waiting…..forever probably…..

Dude, listen, I don’t know how far up your ass you’ve managed to force your head but you need to stop and start retracting it asap!

          • dlocsta

You are good at making insults but have been very poor at trying to justify your point in any way other than to put up a link that references half of commerce law. Let me break it down for you:

            “(a) Unlawfulness
It shall be unlawful for any person, partnership, or corporation to disseminate, or cause to be disseminated, any false advertisement—
(1)By United States mails, or in or having an effect upon commerce, by any means, for the purpose of inducing, or which is likely to induce, directly or indirectly the purchase of food, drugs, devices, services, or cosmetics; or This does not apply to the situation.

(2)By any means, for the purpose of inducing, or which is likely to induce, directly or indirectly, the purchase in or having an effect upon commerce, of food, drugs, devices, services, or cosmetics. This does not apply.

            (b) Unfair or deceptive act or practice
The dissemination or the causing to be disseminated of any false advertisement within the provisions of subsection (a) of this section shall be an unfair or deceptive act or practice in or affecting commerce within the meaning of section 45 of this title.” This is the section of the law you would like to reference, if you took the time to actually read it. This does not apply because as I have stated over and over you are trying to take two statements and manipulate their meanings.

Statement one: You will play the real game.

This is true in that the game they allow you to play is the final version of the product downloaded to your system.

            Statement two:

You will have a limited amount of time to play the game.

            This statement is also true.

Your contention is that because you cannot access each and every portion of the game EA misrepresented themselves, yet both statements are true.

You posted, “Again, If you can; Define Real-Game & Define Retail-Game & Define Demo, explain the difference between the three. For your position to be even vaguely tenable, you must have a compelling distinction to present.” First, you never once asked me to define any of these in your other post. This is the second time you have referenced something you said but cannot be found in a post; I have already posted the other. But to humor you, a real game is the final product minus any future patches of course. A retail game is the final product that would be sent to retail, the exact same thing as a real game. A demo is a portion of a game or a separate version put together to illustrate the play of the game (you know like when you play a shooter demo and none of the demo is actually a part of the game or is different sections put together not necessarily in the proper order).
A real game is the retail version, a full copy. Is that not what you download with EA Access? Does limiting the play time change the fact that it is the retail version of the game? I understand your point, by limiting the play time it is effectively, in your mind and the minds of most people nothing more than a demo. I do not completely disagree. Where you seem to loose sight of things is I have repeatedly stated they did not lie and they did not. I never said I agreed with them. Unlike you I never voiced my opinion of the situation. I have only spoken it fact. I agree with your position but it does not change the facts.

          • Thad Vanity

LMFAO. I don’t even know where to start. Those definitions of yours have absolutely no legal standing WHATSOEVER and have clearly been pulled out of your ass (ProTip: read back a bit and you’ll see where I asked a few times….lol) and are in absolutely no way compelling responses (But here’s the ironic part: they still support my side of this because of how broadly defined you left them). Try again, but a lot harder this time. Srsly; Your definitions are just so laughable It only further confirms they were written by a 15 year old child or someone with the mental capacity and legal knowledge of a 15 year old child but since it’s easy enough to discredit you with your own crap: lets just do that:

Oh also: Sections (1) & (2) do actually apply, you just don’t understand the big words in them “having an effect upon commerce, by any means, for the purpose of inducing, or which is likely to induce, directly or indirectly the purchase of food, drugs, devices, services,” EA Access is a service. So this applies.

“By any means, for the purpose of inducing, or which is likely to induce, directly or indirectly, the purchase in or having an effect upon commerce, of food, drugs, devices, services, or cosmetics.”
EA Access remains a service so this continues to apply.

And then simply put: If you were induced (convinced) to subscribe to EA Access because of timed access to what you believed were full games, but has conclusively shown to be a limited portion of that game, you have been induced through the dissemination of false to advertising to purchase a service.

You clearly don’t understand case law or you wouldn’t keep quoting what is actually the most basic form of the law without understanding legal precedence or why that’s 90% of the law and what your quoting is only 10%.

“Does limiting the play time change the fact that it is the retail version of the game?”

No. That’s the entire fucking point and yet somehow you’ve completely missed it.

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LIMITING PLAY TIME AND EVERYTHING TO DO WITH WITHHOLDING CONTENT WHILE STILL CALLING IT THE REAL GAME AND EXPLICITLY STATING IT IS NOT A DEMO!

And your surprised why I keep insulting your obviously below average intelligence!?!? You clearly can’t read or comprehend very well.

Have you actually managed to grasp anything so far? Because your responses suggest you posses the mental faculties of a sand bag.

I’m going to end on this though:
“Statement one: You will play the real game.”

This is true in that the game they allow you to play is the final version of the product downloaded to your system.”

Final version minus locked content. You can’t argue with that. It’s simple, absolute fact.

Then you say “A real game is the retail version, a full copy.” So how can it be the full copy if content is being withheld? If it contains less content than the retail copy or to put it another way: An incomplete portion of the game.

Wait, how did you just define demo again: “A demo is a portion of a game”

[define: portion] = a part of a whole; an amount, section, or piece of something.

/thread you absolute jackass. But PLEEEEASE; Post another reply. Your stupidity is reaching a nexus.

          • dlocsta

You do not have to believe my credentials but that does not negate the fact that I have them. And jut so you know my IQ is aove 130.

            Anyway, these are your words:

And then simply put: If you were induced (convinced) to subscribe to EA Access because of timed access to what you believed were full games, but has conclusively shown to be a limited portion of that game, you have been induced through the dissemination of false to advertising to purchase a service.

What you managed to leave out is the FACT that EA STATES you WILL HAVE TIME LIMITED ACCESS. (And what does “dissemination of false to adversting to purchase a service” mean? That is what is called a non-coherent sentence.

            Not done yet, your words:

Final version minus locked content. You can’t argue with that. It’s simple, absolute fact.
So you are saying once you purchase the game the last 95% downloads (suggesting the limitation is the first 10% of the game)? I ask simply because if no additional content is downloaded, only a pass key, that must mean the final version was already downloaded. That is unless you know some special algorithm that will allow the majority of a game to be downloaded in a 2k pass key?
It is hilarious how you call me legally illiterate yet you still have not addressed nor acknowledged the fact that EA makes TWO claims and both claims are true. You try to say the entire game is not downloaded but have not ONE TIME said what it is that is downloaded. Explain to me what you would call having all of the written code for a game on your console? Maybe you can better understand it this way, if you get a free trial of Office it will let you access the program for 30 days with limited access depending on the program (Word and Excel you can do about everythng but Access and Publisher have slight restrictions). After 30 days you need a pass key to access the software. In this case does that mean you don’t have the the entire software loaded for Office either? I know for a fact from using it multiple times and doing this very thing nothing else is downloaded after I paid for the key.
Last thing, again I find it funny you say I speak in generality and that my statements are broad but you have stated nothing but opinion and provded nothing to support your argument. When you get a chance ask the manager at the McDonald’s where you work about what it takes for a statement to be legally misleading. According to you evey fastfood place should be sued because the food looks nothing like the commercials! That is as misleading and obvious as you can get but people poor in by the droves everyday regardless.

          • Thad Vanity

Your a complete and utter fucking moron…..

Srsly. Everything you’ve written reeks of banality and ignorance. You’ve clearly not comprehended a single thing and instead orbit around a select few absurd logical conclusions.

You ignore key elements of my points to create a straw man argument because that is the only way you can even appear to have any validity in your argument.

I’m actually at a loss for how god damn ignorant you are. IQ of a 130. Get fucked. You’ve represented yourself to the effect of someone with an IQ of 75. What happened to that multi-million dollar account with Sony BTW?

Look, Your obviously beyond helping and frankly I’m bored of your absurdities now, Your stupidity has actually reached that glorious nexus of arrogance, ignorance and idiocy. Maybe you could repair a piece of medial equipment that removes peoples heads from their own ass holes and you can begin seeing some sun light.

            God damn you stupid…..

          • dlocsta

You continue to make my point. You have plenty to say when it comes to character assassination but nothing more and have the audacity to call someone immature and stupid. Get help.

          • Thad Vanity

No, I’ve said everything.Your just too stupid to comprehend.

          • dlocsta

Point prove, 100% slanderous and 0% substance. Immature does fit this discussion it is just being exclaimed by the wrong person.

          • Thad Vanity

          • dlocsta

Just so you understand what you sound like. This is from you, “Who said anything about defective you ignorant mook! Lets say I rent a movie: the new Godzilla for example. I put the disk in and instead of the whole movie playing (Despite it being on the disk in its entirety) it plays the first half of the movie, in black and white while occasionally skipping scenes and cutting audio…..” and this is what it refers to, “Lets say I rent a movie: the new Godzilla for example. I put the disk in and instead of the whole movie playing (Despite it being on the disk in its entirety) it plays the first half of the movie, in black and white while occasionally skipping scenes and cutting audio.”

Would you please point this out for me, I am an ignorant mook after all, “It was stated as a function of the film disc to limit access to content while the entirety of its content remained on the disk…..” because I could not find that anywhere in any of your posts. Maybe you were just being misleading….

    • drjonesjnr

Deffo Microsoft fanboy ea are god now because of early access lmfao lol you xbots are hilarious

  • XanderZane41

This is EA we’re talking about, so this doesn’t surprise me. This games is longer then any 6 hours, so you should have been able to continue playing. You’re not going to beat the game and see all the content in 6 hours. If anything EA, should just lower the time limit to 3-4 hours if they are so concerned about gamers speed through one of their games and finishing it so they don’t have to buy it. EA is still getting paid $10 a month for these users to try the game in advance anyways.

  • Zé Boreu

Dude do you understand what the word trial mean? back in WOTLK, wow had free trials, but you were only able to play vanilla content, does it mean it was not a trial?

    • http://www.geeksdontlie.co.uk/ Meg Pelliccio

If EA literally labelled it as a trial with no other description, I would have no issue with it. It’s that it’s being described as “you’re playing the real game for a limited time” when it isn’t as there are limitations in place that wouldn’t be in the “real game”.

      • Zé Boreu

It’s very hard for me to give any real objection or agreement since i’m not a EA acess user myself(i don’t even own a XOne myself), i just have to work with what i got(your article and the commenters here), so i leave it to that.
Also sorry for calling you a “dude”, i haven’t noticed you were a girl when i wrote this.

        • http://www.geeksdontlie.co.uk/ Meg Pelliccio

ha ha I take no offence to being called a dude :P

We’re all entitled to our own opinions, you’re not always going to agree with everyone else, that’s just how it is

          • GotNews4Ya

I agree with the stance the Author is stating.. because If its limited by hrs… the game should just not let you boot it up and such.. not limit the entire game down so that its around 6 hrs long.. lol

  • NoNeedToArgue

apparently the dudes in the comments section can’t read. the author is talking about this part: “In fact, every option visible to me at the war table said “Not available during trial“” his point is that is not a full-game trial like it is marketed as. you are not award access to the full game, otherwise there would be no situation where something is “not available during trial”. he is simply calling it out on what it is. a false promise on what is being marketed. If during the battlefield hardline trial you cannot upgrade your weapons in MP because “this feature is not available during trial” it would be the same issue. see what the point is?

  • drjonesjnr

Microsoft lies again its always the same with Microsoft and ea for that matter. Now we know why Sony turned them down basically xbone owners are playing $5 a month for ea demos lmfao lol oh dear thats funny lol
