Ubisoft have finally officially revealed that this year’s instalment into the assassin-dropping, eavesdropping, frame-rate dropping series will be called ‘Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’ amongst other news and confirmations on previously only leaked information. The publisher today have confirmed that the setting will indeed be Victorian London, 1868 as Kotaku had previously revealed from leaked screenshots.

They also confirmed that there will indeed be a second female protagonist in addition to the male main protagonist named Jacob Frye who is Jacob’s sister Evie and is playable for parts of the campaign.

The game will feature revolvers, brass knuckles and grappling hooks that allow players to scale building quickly as well as use them as zip wires. Drivable horse-drawn carriages are also included that allow characters to travel the map quickly.

Finally, the game’s release date has been set as October 23rd this year for PS4 and Xbox One (meaning it seems definitely next-gen only) and PC some time later this year. So what are your impressions so far? Let me know in the comments
