Final Fantasy XIV: Triple Triad card collection guide
With the recent implementation of patch 2.51, the Manderville Gold Saucer was added to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Among the various mini-games and activities included, my favourite Final Fantasy mini-game was added - Triple Triad.
Accessing the Triple Triad mini-game
First you’re going to need access to the Gold Saucer, you can get this by picking up the quest “It could Happen to You” from Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X:9 Y:9). You must be at least level 15 and have completed one of the following main scenario quests: “The Gridanian Envoy,” “The Ul’dahn Envoy,” or “The Lominsan Envoy”. To partake in the Gold Saucer activities you need MGP, this can be bought at the front desk or earned through mini-games.
Once in the Saucer, pick up the quest “Triple Triad Trial” from the the Triple Triad Master NPC at (X:4 Y:7). He will guide you through a tutorial and give you your first five basic cards. Cards are added to your inventory and must be used to be added to your deck. If you want an explanation of the various Triple Triad rules, check out this detailed guide.
You can then challenge NPCs and other players to Triple Triad. NPCs who can be challenged are not limited to within the Gold Saucer but are scattered throughout Eorzea. You can win cards from NPCs, buy cards with MGP, as well as receiving them as drops from dungeons, trials, and raids.

Of course, with Triple Triad being less than a week old in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, there are some cards that have unknown origins and possible errors in this list. I’ve found conflicting information on various sites, so I’ve tried to go mainly by what I’ve experienced myself and filled in the blanks from others sources (see below). If you spot any mistakes or have any new information, please comment so we can amend it.
**Patch 2.55 has added one new NPC - Tartaru Taru.
