Minion battling mini-game “announced” for Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is set to get a new RTS arcade-style mini-game for the Gold Saucer that sees players able to battle with their beloved minions - LORD of VirMINION. Well, players will apparently battle with virtual images of their minions, to be precise.

Each minion will have different parameters, such as hit points, attack power, defense rating, and movement speed. Additionally, minions will have their own unique cost and feature, with the example being given that Baby Opo- costs a lot of points to use, but that it moves very fast. It will be up to the player to decide how to build their team using the total cost cap of 240 points. Additionally, a new minion was unveiled - Wind-up Viangaa (male and female).

This was believable right up until the wind-up Viangaa minion, which featured in a previous joke last year about the forthcoming new race. It’s fairly sad to think this is an April Fool’s joke, especially as it’s past the point of fooling around in most time zones. Many players, myself included, would LOVE to see this added. It’s not that far-fetched given that World of Warcraft implemented something similar. Perhaps the biggest joke is that this could actually become true one day?
