FFXIV

Patch 2.55 has finally arrived for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, bringing the main scenario to a dramatic close, preparing adventurers for their new adventures that will begin this June in Heavensward. You can read the full patch 2.55 notes via the official website, but here are some of the highlights:

Of course, a new batch of main scenario quests have been added, ending the current story arc as we know it. Side quests have also been added, such as additional Delivery Moogle quests. Considering one of the new items added is the “Postmoogle Cap”, I think it’s safe to say that completing the Delivery Moogle quest line will grant you this cute accessory. The weekly limits on the Final Coil of Bahamut and the World of Darkness have been abolished. More Triple Triad NPCs have been added, with some NPCs having their card decks altered, additionally, several elements of the Triple Triad tournaments have been adjusted. Furthermore, players will be rewarded a Platinum Triad Card depending on the number of points they have earned when a tournament ends, and will received bonus MGP based on the number of points they have earned at the close of the tournament.

Chocobo racing has also been tweaked, the MGP rewards have been adjusted and the amount of EXP and MGP earned for those who finish in 1st to 7th place has been increased. The number of MGP obtained for finishing last has been reduced. Additionally, the effects of some of the chocobo abilities have been adjusted also. The NPC Grege at the Entrance Square (X:5 Y:6) of the Gold Saucer now sells various consumable items, as well as an Independent Arms Mender being added to the Entrance Square at (X:5 Y:6).

A new trial has been added, The Steps of Faith, which requires eight players and an item level of 90 or above. Players must first complete the main scenario quest “An Allied Perspective.” After which, you can unlock The Steps of Faith from Marcelain in Coerthas Central Highlands (X:18 Y:14). More event items can now be stored in the armoire, additionally, several event items can now be sold via the Market Board.

If the new patch changes aren’t enough to keep you occupied, the Easter event, Hatching Tide, begins this Thursday on April 2, 2015!
