It’s Easter this weekend, while you may be already dreaming about those yummy chocolate eggs you can devour, your Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn counterpart can look forward to their own festivities. The Easter themed event, Hatching Tide, begins this Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 8:00 and will last until Wednesday, April 15 at 14:59 (GMT).

As always, the event yields some suitably festive themed items for you to unlock. This year the main rewards are a range of egg-cellent earrings, as well an egg-themed floor lamp. I’m always disappointed when a new minion isn’t included, but hey, we can’t get minions all the time.

The starting quest “Great Eggspectations” can be started in Old Gridania (X:10 Y:9) from Jihli Aliapoh. After continuing with the quest line, you will eventually have to participate in the “Gloria in Eggcelsis” FATE located at the following locations:

• Middle La Noscea, Summerford Farms
• Lower La Noscea, the Salt Strand
• North Shroud, Hyrstmill
• Central Thanalan, Ul’dah Dispatch Yard
• Eastern Thanalan, Camp Drybone

These FATEs yield lucky eggs that can be exchanged for prizes from the Hatching-Tide Dreamers in the three city states. Alternatively, they can be opened by using them from within your inventory.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is due to receive its first expansion, Heavensward, later this year on June 23, 2015. Those who pre-order will be able to access the game early on June 19, 2015, as well as receiving the Baron Circlet and Earrings, as well as the Black Chocobo Courier minion. You can even pick up this awesome, yet rather pricey, Collector’s Edition.
