Destiny player deletes stranger’s save files via PS4 Share Play feature
A Destiny player got more than he bargained for when he opted to use the PlayStation 4’s Share Play feature with a stranger. The Destiny player CuckooknightHD, whose real name is Henry, teams up with another player named ‘KirmitTHEfrog’ and expects him to help him boost his character level. Sony’s description of its Share Play feature is as follows:
The key word there being “friend”… However, handing over your game progress, especially your precious Destiny characters, to a stranger seems pretty silly. KirmitTHEfrog deletes the poor guy’s level 31 Warlock, his level 26 Titan, and dismantles an exotic weapon from a third character just to really rub salt in the wound. Henry misses the guy deleting his characters as he had gone AFK, however, he comes back just in time to witness the destruction of his exotic and when he realises his characters are gone you can even hear the poor kid crying.
I feel really bad for the player, he sounds young and although it was pretty stupid to trust a stranger, it’s never nice to see all the effort you put into something completely wiped away. According to Henry’s mother, who has commented on the video on YouTube, Henry’s friends added the troll players to the party and so Henry trusted them because his friend trusted them. Maybe Bungie will feel his plight and do something, that’s even if Bungie can do anything about it.

The moral of this story? Don’t invite strangers into your game with Share Play.
