Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate launched for the 3DS today and Capcom wants to ensure you’re starting your journey in style by giving you a special starter pack. From today until March 15, 2015, you can download the extra DLC free of charge. The start pack includes the following:

• Honey x30
• Mega Dash Juice x15
• Well-done Steak x30
• Max Potion x10
• Lifepowder x20
• Ancient Potion x5
• Flash Bomb x30
• Sonic Bomb x30
• Pitfall Trap x15
• Shock Trap x15
• Super Mushroom x6

The best item is the Super Mushroom, as this isn’t just a simple consumable but will net you some awesome Super Mario Bros themed costumes for your felynes. Once you have completed the first 2 Capital “C” Challenges from the Caraveneer, you can speak to the smithy and craft either the Mario of Luigi outfits for your Palico as well as one matching Invincible Hammer.

To be eligible to download the DLC you must obviously own Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate; once you have a save file with at least one hunter on it, simply connect to the Nintendo eShop via your internet connection and download patch 1.1 for the game. After that, load up the game and speak to the Housekeeper, choose “Downloadable Content” then go to the “Gift Area” option. Download the starter pack and then check your item box to get your freebies!
