Desperately seeking Rosalina? There’s still hope for UK amiibo hunters
24/01/15 UPDATE:
Argos has removed the home-delivery Rosalina from its website, leaving only the standard in-store collection option available. It appears as if Argos burned through whatever little stock it had of Rosalina pretty swiftly.
23/01/15 UPDATE:
Well, that was a small window of opportunity. Rosalina has now sold out at many of the post codes I checked previously. However, a similar situation occurred with the coveted Animal Crossing Villager amiibo. Argos would get it back in stock every few days or so if you were keen enough to keep checking their website for both local collection and home delivery. If you’re still after Rosalina, I would recommend doing the same.
ORIGINAL STORY:
You may have seen our older article about hunting down some of the previous amiibo figures, with the release of the latest batch of amiibo, we decided to see where we can buy these new sought after characters. Six new figures have been released today: Toon Link, Sheik, Bowser, Lucario, Rosalina, and Ike.
Walking into our local GAME store, the store had all figures in stock except for Rosalina. It was evident quite a while ago that Rosalina would be the rarest of this batch, she’s been sold out on the Nintendo UK store for some time now. Checking stock of other GAME stores in the area provided the same result, Rosalina was a no-go, with most stores saying they hadn’t received any figures of her at all. GAME stores have amiibo figures priced at £14.99, however, you can order them from the GAME website for £10.99, including free delivery. The website has stock of Toon Link, Sheik, Bowser, Lucario, and Ike.
On to Argos then, priced at £10.99, Rosalina was not in stock in any of my local Argos stores. However, there is a silver lining. Although not available to order as a click and collect to any of my local stores, the Argos website has another listing for Rosalina, a home delivery one. Slightly more expensive at £12.99, this figure was in stock for me and I managed to order one to be delivered to my home address. I’ve tried a few post codes from across the country and haven’t found an area that didn’t have Rosalina available for delivery yet. Of course, I’m no post code queen, so I can’t promise that the figure will be available in your area. If you’re after Rosalina at a reasonable price, this may be your best bet if you live in the UK.
I’d be interested to hear if anyone finds that Rosalina isn’t available for home delivery from Argos in their area. No doubt the figures won’t stay in stock for long, so be sure to check Argos out before she’s gone. Let us know how your amiibo hunting is going in the comments below.
Nintendo recently announced a new wave of amiibo figures, as well as giving fans a release date for previously announced amiibos. If you want any of these figures, I strongly suggest pre-ordering them from your retailer of choice to avoid disappointment.
