Pokémon Shuffle out now on the Nintendo eShop
Pokémon Shuffle is now available to download from the Nintendo eShop for 3DS and 2DS. The game is free to download and play with optional micro-transactions should you wish to hurry things along.
In Pokémon Shuffle, the player must clear various stages by lining up the same Pokémon and clearing these matches from the puzzle area, similar to Pokémon Link Battle. In each puzzle stage you can deal damage to the wild Pokémon you face by lining up three of the same Pokémon to clear them. Players must battle and try to catch the Pokémon before they run out of moves. To participate in battles, you need a heart, you start with five and one is used up for every battle you play. Over time, your heats will regenerate and you can play again, alternatively you can use items you have earned or bought with Nintendo eShop funds to play again. There are other additional items that can be used during battle, unlocked through regular game play or through in-game purchases.
Each stage of Pokémon Shuffle provides the player with a limited number of opportunities in which to move their Pokémon around. There is no time limit, meaning you can take as long as you like to study the board and plan your next move. To clear each stage, you have to reduce the HP of the wild Pokémon you face to zero within a set number of moves.
Pokémon all have a type of their own and each has its strengths and weaknesses. Choosing the right group of Pokémon for each level is important in succeeding. You’ll be able to raise the level of your Pokémon by using them multiple times, enabling them to deal more damage to foes. Pokémon Shuffle also features Mega-Evolving Pokémon – when one of your Pokémon Mega Evolves, it can clear out multiple Pokémon at once, or cause other special effects.
