Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced some free downloadable content for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The DLC is available now and includes the new Lithariel character skin, enabling players the opportunity to take control of the Warrior Commander of the Tribesmen of Nurn. There’s also the new Test of Defiance challenge mode and the Epic Rune, which allows players an additional Last Chance when felled in combat.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor launched today for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, after being delayed from its initial release alongside the next-gen versions. It seems a shame that this new DLC is not available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, however, taking into account the staggered release date, perhaps the DLC will arrive in due time also.

If the new DLC doesn’t sate your appetite for orc-smashing action, you can always purchase the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor season pass. The season pass retails at £19.99 and includes additional story missions, as well as granting players early access to new challenge modes.
