Microsoft is working on Xbox spam message issue
If you’re an Xbox user, you may have recently noticed an influx of spam messages that you never used to receive. The good news is that Microsoft is aware of the problem and is working on it. Mike Ybarra of Microsoft tweeted to confirm that the issue was being addressed, as well as offering a solution for the mean time:
Those asking about Xbox Live messages spam - we're working on it. But for now friends/my profile/privacy/custom and check friends only.

He also requested that users report all spammers, promising “We look at them, we boot them“, as well as stating that it will be easier to report the spammers in the future.
Next month we'll make reporting spammers a lot easier in the UI - for those asking.

Personally, my favourite spam message has been where the sender states they want to play with me so I should go and check out a link to win a console. Because you know, clearly I don’t already have one already… Spammers aren’t known for being clever, after all.
