Nintendo of Europe has announced that 3DS and 2DS owners can look forward to a bunch of new themes this Friday. The new arrivals include two Pokémon themes and three new Super Mario Bros themes. I imagine they will be priced at the standard cost of themes, which is currently £1.79 / €1,99 each. As an added bonus, a Sonic Boom theme will be available for free.

I’ve been hoping for some Pokémon themes to be announced and I’m not surprised that some are arriving in time for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. The sleeping Pikachu theme is especially adorable.

Nintendo has been updating its available themes quite regularly, you can see the full range of themes that are available via the official website. It’s nice to see another free theme offered to fans too, the tweet doesn’t stipulate any conditions so I assume it will just be available for anyone to download. Unlike the Halloween one that was given to lucky Club Nintendo members only.
