Assassin’s Creed Victory leaked

Details of next year’s Assasin’s Creed game has been leaked online. This new installment to the franchise, titled Assassin’s Creed Victory, takes place in London during the 19th century.

Much like the name suggests, Victory will have players exploring the Victorian era. Many fans have wanted to see an Assassin’s Creed title in this time period, it will be no surprise to any one if Jack the Ripper is included. How can they not include him?

Victory is the first Assassin’s Creed game led by Ubisoft’s Quebec studio. The same studio that developed the downloadable content Assassin’s Creed III The Tyranny of King Washington and Assassin’s Creed IV Freedom Cry. Victory is reportedly launching in Autumn 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Furthermore, Victory will apparently be the only Assassin’s Creed title to launch next year. So we won’t be seeing a dual launch as we did this year, does this mean no Assassin’s Creed for the last generation any more?

News of Victory came from a seven-minute “target gameplay footage” video seen by Kotaku, which describes it as “surprisingly slick and could pass for an E3 presentation“.

After the leak, Ubisoft released a statement to PC Gamer stating its natural disappointment about the leaked information.

It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.

It must be fairly annoying to see your hard work shown to the masses before you intended. I imagine it’s a bit like walking in on your kids opening their Christmas presents way before the 25th, which doesn’t necessarily mean they’re less excited about them.
