Amazon cancels Amiibo orders due to stock shortages
Amazon.co.uk has begun to cancel certain orders of Amiibo figures and versions of Super Smash Bros for Wii U due to stock shortages. Affected items include various figures, as well as the Super Smash Bros Wii U game with GameCube controller adapter bundle, the standalone GameCube pad adapters for Wii U, and Super Smash Bros edition GameCube controllers.
Customers are reportedly receiving the following statement from Amazon when receiving notification of their orders being cancelled:
Our supplier has informed us that this item is no longer available. This item has now been cancelled and we can confirm that you have not been charged for it.
Please accept our apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience caused.
Amazon isn’t the only retailer to be affected by stock shortages when it comes to Amiibos and Super Smash Bros. It seems quite a few companies in Europe are feeling the Amiibo pinch with the UK being the worst affected.
