A YouTube user appears to have somehow tricked their Super Smash Bros Wii U game into thinking they’ve placed a Duck Hunt Duo amiibo figure onto the NFC spot. This would suggest that either a Duck Hunt Duo amiibo will be released in the future, or that Nintendo had considered releasing this figure to the point of adding files to the Wii U, but then cancelled it. Or, the video could be fake.

As with any rumour, it’s best to take this video with a pinch of salt. However, if it turns out to be fake I’ll be impressed considering how legit the video seems. Some fans are calling foul already due to the name choice of “Duck Hunt Duo”, claiming that the team in question is referred to as a trio. However, in the PAL version of the game, they are most assuredly referred to as the “Duck Hunt Duo”. You can watch the video in full below:

Amiibos are in high demand at the moment, with many being difficult to obtain due to stock shortages. Amiibos are being released in waves, so save yourself some frustration and pre-order the future releases that you will want now. Unfortunately, even some of the unreleased amiibos are already sold out too.
