Not long after announcing that Official Nintendo Magazine would come to a close, Nintendo has now launched its brand new online magazine, Nintendo Extra. It offers gaming tips, exclusive content for both Wii U and 3DS, as well as a huge dose of classic Nintendo awesomeness. The first issue contains information on forthcoming titles such as Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Pokémon Omega Ruby, and more. It also showcases recent releases, as well as including informative articles about Nintendo services and features such as Nintendo Network IDs.

Additionally, Nintendo Kids Club has also gone live. This website offers children a great source of enjoyment, from puzzles to artworks, and even fun trivia, kids can enjoy and discover more about their favourite Nintendo games. It also features a new puppet-based series, ‘The Cat Mario Show‘, which can be viewed free of charge.

I was saddened to hear about Official Nintendo Magazine ending, however, I completely understood why. I used to buy that magazine but it got to the point where most of the news you read inside its pages you had already read online. It’s great to see Nintendo changing with the times and starting an online magazine, I really hope it does well.
