It was only the other that day that UK retailer GAME announced that it would be giving way a free inkling hat to anyone who pre-ordered Splatoon with them. However, while GAME may state that the hat is “exclusively at GAME“, you can actually get your own orange inkling accessory via the Nintendo UK store for the price of £9.99. The hat is due to release on the same day as the launch of the game.

I actually think it’s a bit of a shame the hat only comes in one colour, it would be awesome to see some other variants available! Yesterday, Nintendo hosted a special Splatoon-themed Nintendo Direct, revealing new game details, as well as information on the global testfire demo.

Splatoon will be releasing on May 29, 2015 for the Wii U, the American fixed pack will launch alongside the game, however, the Splatoon Wii U fixed pack for Europe will be available on June 19, 2015. If you’re an avid amiibo collector looking to score all three Splatoon amiibos, UK retailer GAME has a bundle of the game and all three figures still in stock on its website.
