Oort Online is coming to Steam Early Access on Thursday
Oort Online is due to launch in 2015, however, Wonderstruck has just announced that Oort Online will be coming to Steam Early Access on November 13, 2014 - mere days away! Anyone who buys the game, or who has already bought it, will receive a key for Steam.
The game is an MMO RPG unleashed in a voxel-based sandbox. The game is being crowd funded, however, Wonderstruck chose to crowd fund through its own website rather than using the likes of Kickstarter. The reason being that Wonderstruck wanted to think outside of the Kickstarter box, unlocking features individually rather than attempting to fund everything within 30 days.
I funded Oort Online a few months back so the news that I can get hands on with it in only a few days has me really excited. I really can’t wait to see if the game lives up to its potential as I think it looks amazing. If you don’t hear from me in a few days it’ll be because I’m spending all my time on Oort Online.

Oort Online will be home to an endless possibility of worlds, each portal could take you to a place that you’ve never even seen before. The range of worlds is diverse; ocean worlds with islands, mountain worlds, desert worlds, and each one has a different supply of materials and food.
The world of Oort Online will feature dynamic day-and-night cycles, real-time reflections, weather effects, and more. Many features will be available to players; crafting and building, exploring a number of different worlds, as well making friends and viewing their creations too. Players will be able to fly solo or team up with other adventurers to explore the expansive Oort universe; by creating guilds with friends, players can control more land to build even bigger projects, such as whole cities with shops and portals.
There will be six races to choose from, which players will be able to customise with tools, weapons, and vanity items. Oort Online will also be inhabited by bizarre yet wonderful creatures that you can keep as pets, or capture to use as a food source. More beastly creatures lurk in the world of Oort, you can fight against the Protectors or even gather your friends to tackle the monstrous Titans.
The premise of the game revolves around the legend of The Oort, a race of explorers that are now extinct, all that remains of them is fragments of their legacy that are scattered throughout the world for you to discover. By exploring abandoned Oort temples you can find untold treasures, as well as being able to discover and harness the power of Oort artifacts.
