Raptr is phasing out console support

raptr

Raptr has emailed its users stating that it intends to phase out console support on its website. Raptr initially offered Steam, Xbox Live achievements, and PlayStation Network trophy tracking, PC/Xbox 360 gameplay tracking, as well as unified buddy lists and chat. However, the company found that as it grew, there was a larger demand for features that improved the PC gaming experience, whereas on the console side of things it frequently encountered problems with its system as Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network updating would break its system.

We believe our mission is to make PC gaming fun and effortless, and therefore we’ve decided to focus our resources on PC gaming exclusively. We will retire all remaining console support in the near future.

Raptr has recommended that for users who still wish to view console-related information from the likes of Xbox Live and PSN, but wish to use a “unified tracking solution“, that users should refer to Playfire.

Meg appreciates gaming on all formats, but primarily spends her time achievement hunting to the extreme. Her passion for gaming began as a child, when first introduced to the Amstrad. A collector of gaming consoles past and present, Meg spends as much of her time rediscovering old classics as she does playing the latest releases.

PC Gaming is where it’s at, not the $0N¥ PauperStation.

Shame. Been using Raptr for years. Now i’m just going to have to close my account as I hate gaming on anything other than a console.
