FFXIV: Gifting now available in the Mog Station optional items store

It was only the other day that I decided to list five non-essential things I’d like to see added to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, funnily enough, gifting optional items to other players was one of them. Today, Square Enix has announced that this feature is now available, players can now send gifts from the “growing assortment of optional items with a paid gift code“.

Of course, Square Enix was quick to emphasise that “The use of gift codes for any activity relating to, or suggesting the trade of real-world money, in-game currency, or in-game virtual items is strictly prohibited“. However, I imagine quite a few players with too much real money to burn will try to take advantage of this new feature and begin selling optional item store goodies for gil in-game.

Don’t forget that Final Fantasy XIV‘s first expansion, Heavensward, is releasing later this year. Heavensward is due to release on June 23, 2015. Those who pre-order will be able to access the game early on June 19, 2015, as well as receiving the Baron Circlet and Earrings, as well as the Black Chocobo Courier minion.
