Raptr has reached out to its users to advise them to change their passwords after its website was recently hacked, stating that some user data may have been compromised as a result. Raptr compared the attack to other similar recent hacking attacks:

User names, email addresses, password hashes, and some first and last names may have been accessed by those behind the attack. Although passwords are hashed, users with weak passwords are vulnerable to unauthorized access, and so Raptr is urging users to reset their passwords at their earliest convenience. Raptr has also assured users that Raptr Reward Points are protected due to the two-factor authentication system used for redeeming the points. In addition, if you use the same password as you did on Raptr on other sites, it is recommended that you also change those passwords immediately.

Raptr has promised that it is “committed to further improving account security going forward.”
