It was always going to be a poor month that had to follow-up April’s double bonanza of Games with Gold titles, yet I was still holding out hope that we’d get some kind of gem amongst the rubble. While I’m not “wowed” by the titles announced, they’re far from being shoddy so I really shouldn’t sulk so much.

In May, Games with Gold is adding CastleStorm: Definitive Edition for Xbox One, this an tower-defense brawler mashup title will be available between May 1, 2015 and May 31, 2015, as well as Xbox One owners still being able to download Pool Nation for another month. Xbox 360 users have a couple of good games, firstly there’s Mafia II, which I did actually really enjoy (I’m just always miffed when I have already played the Games with Gold titles, selfish I know!). Mafia II will be available to download between May 1, 2015 and May 15, 2015. Then from May 16, 2015 until May 31, 2015, you’ll be able to download F1 2013.

Games with Gold offers free titles to Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners every month, as long as they have an active Xbox Live Gold membership. Xbox 360 games included in the Games for Gold promotion will always be available to play once downloaded. However, Xbox One titles can only be accessed while the account that downloaded it retains its Xbox Live Gold membership status.
