Third-party GameCube adapter for Wii U now available via Play-Asia

The Wii U GameCube adapters are as hard to come by as some of the more sought after amiibo figures. If you’ve been one of the unlucky fans waiting to play Super Smash Bros in style with a GameCube controller, you now have an alternative. Play-Asia has just begun selling its own third-party adapter. You can pick up the adapter for the price of £9.00, or you can grab the bundle that comes complete with a black Super Smash Bros GameCube controller, for the cost of £21.86. Of course, there’ll be some shipping fees on top of that too.

The downside is that it only has one port on the adapter and that the favoured WaveBird controllers are not compatible with it. However, this doesn’t detract from the fact this is a really nice alternative, especially with the official adapters so short in supply.

With any luck, other third-party adapters will start to appear and perhaps they’ll feature more ports and WaveBird compatibility.
