Evolve has gone gold
Turtle Rock’s highly anticipated multiplayer shooter has gone gold. To celebrate this milestone for Evolve, the studio is celebrating in a few different ways. Firstly, it released the introduction cinematic for the game, which you can see below:
Secondly, Evolve merchandise will begin to be made available via the 2K Games online store. Lastly, the team at Turtle Rock Studios decided to raise money for charity by growing out their hair and beards until Evolve passed certification. For each inch of beard grown by the guys and hair cut by the ladies, $50 will be donated to Child’s Play charity. The total length was 227.5 inches, which raised a total of $11,375. The hair also went to a good cause, if long enough it was donated to Locks of Love. 2K Games is also matching Turtle Rock Studio’s contribution, making the total donation $22,750.
For the time being, Turtle Rock has stated that it will now be turning its attention to the open beta, as well as continuing to work on future downloadable content for Evolve, such as the fourth monster fans have been teased with.
The open beta for Evolve begins next week, so it’ll be a great time to get excited about its forthcoming release on February 10, 2015. Evolve will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
