Smash Bros announcer delights NeoGAF with sound clips

NeoGAF user, Feep, decided to share the strange but wonderful news that his new roommate was none other than Xander Mobus, the voice actor for the Super Smash Bros announcer on Wii U and 3DS. Wanting to take advantage of this new alliance, Feep requested that Mobus record nine sound clips of popular NeoGAF forum comments.

Mobus was a good sport and willingly obliged, you can find all nine sound clips over on the NeoGAF thread, where you can hear him bellow the likes of “BANNED!” or “NEOGAF OFFICIAL THREAD!“.

Feep is an employee of Iridium Studios, an indie developer currently working on There Came an Echo. As such, Iridum Studios tweeted confirming the NeoGAF thread shortly after it was posted.

Of course, many NeoGAF users are now requesting even more sound recordings. I imagine we’ll be hearing the clips being heavily used in the NeoGAF forums for the foreseeable. Mobus doesn’t actually make any direct references to Nintendo or the Super Smash Bros games, most likely due to his contract agreement.
