Sony experiences PSN difficulties once again

PSN

Users have begun to report experiencing difficulties with the PlayStation Network once again, leaving them unable to connect to the service to shop or play online with others. Sony has acknowledged the issues via Twitter:

The PlayStation support page also states that the network is experiencing “Heavy Network Traffic” and recommends that “Some latency may be experienced due to high volume. Should you continue to experience problems after PSN services are fully restored please refer to Contact Support“.

Over Christmas the PlayStation Network suffered downtime when it was targeted with a DDoS attack from Lizard Squad. Sony has since informed users that it will be offering an extension of five days for PlayStation Plus subscribers and a 10% discount code to make up for the lost time over the holidays.
