Twentieth Century Fox has released a trailer for its forthcoming film, Hitman: Agent 47. Based on the popular gaming franchise Hitman, the film centers on an elite assassin who is genetically engineered to be the perfect killing machine. Known only by his serial number that is tattooed on the back of his head, 47 is back in action in this latest adaptation. Rupert Friend stars as the elusive assassin Agent 47, the cast also includes the likes of Zachary Quinto and Hannah Ware.

Hitman: Agent 47 will be releasing in theatres on August 28, 2015. Check out the trailer below:

Hitman originally made it to the big screen back in 2007 with Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47. Although I enjoyed the film, there were certain elements I thought didn’t stay true to the games, such as making Agent 47 fall in love. I’m looking forward to seeing if Hitman: Agent 47 manages to compliment the game series a bit better, so far my only bug bear is that they have given 47 hair, even if it is just stubble. What are your thoughts on Hitman: Agent 47, or the last Hitman film? Are you excited to see another film adaptation of a game? Let us know in the comments below.

Looks dark and gritty, hopefully it will be an 18cert as it needs the nasty side to really show and give it back bone.
