Free Dragon Age: Inquisition trial now available on Xbox One for Gold members

DAI

Microsoft announced today that it will be offering a free trial of Dragon Age: Inquisition for Xbox One owners who are also Xbox Live Gold members. The trial will last for a limited time only, from today until March 16, 2015. Other than that, it’s unclear if there will be any other limitations in place or whether players will have access to the full game for that set amount of time. Sadly, it appears the trial is only for Xbox One users and the same offer has not been extended to Xbox 360 owners.

Microsoft previously offered a free trial of Sunset Overdrive for Xbox Live Gold members, which was the full game where players could even unlock achievements. If this is a similar case with the Dragon Age: Inquisition trial, then players are in for a treat as they should be able to earn achievements and save their progress, then if they decide to buy the full game in the future they can then carry on from where they left off. On the other hand, the trial may be like the free Inquisition trial offered as part of EA Access, where there were limitations in place. Let’s hope that’s not the case.

I think it’s a great offer from Microsoft to allow Xbox One players to get a taste of one of the best games of 2014. It was undoubtedly my favourite game of last year, so much so it was our game of the year here at Geeks Don’t Lie. You can read my full review here.
