Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - release date, limited edition and more

Lots of new information detailing the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been recently revealed. On Tuesday, IGN leaked a video in which the legendary Hideo Kojima talks about his new game, as well as revealing the game’s release date for consoles as the 1st of September, 2015. This has now been confirmed along with the release date for the PC edition which will come out two weeks later on the 15th.

As well as the release dates, the game has been given a Collector’s Edition which is available at launch for £100. It will include a host of in-game goodies such as listed below:

  • Weapon and Shield Pack (Windurger S333 Comba Special Weapon, Adam-ska Special Weapon, Maschinen aktische Pistole 5 Weiss Special Weapon, Rasp Short-Barreled Shotgun Gold Special Weapon, and a Personal Ballistic Shield in Olive Drab, Silver, White, and Gold)
  • Cardboard Boxes (Rocky Terrain, All-Purpose Dryland, and Wetland)
  • Snake Costume (Fatigues in Black Ocelot, Gray Urban, Blue Urban, and All-Purpose Dryland)
  • “Venom Snake” Emblem
  • Metal Gear Online XP Boost
  • Online gear (Metal Gear Rex Helmet, Golden AM MRS-4, and Golden WU S.PISTOL)

As well as these digital items, you’ll also receive the following:

  • Half Scale Replica of Snake’s Bionic Arm
  • SteelBook
  • Behind the Scenes Documentary & Trailers Blu-ray Disc
  • Game map
